What if my eyelids naturally shimmered, and all I had to do was be awake? I'd probably stumble out of bed equally usual, with my crazy-@ss pilus and (sometimes) crusty drool around the corners of my oral fissure, and shamble to the bath.
Just and so! — then I'd gaze upon my reflection in the mirror and exist almost blinded by my shimmery eyes. Wham, glam, thank you, ma'am!
Of grade, that'south just a fantasy… Existent people don't have eyelids that naturally shimmer (le sigh), just I think I may accept found the next best affair, Laura Mercier's $24 Illuminating Center Colour in Gilded Bronze, 1 of iv shades in the new Fine art Deco Muse collection.
These eyeshadows have a luminous, pearlescent cease and a soft, almost bouncy texture similar to the MAC Extra Dimensions (which I beloved!), and they shower eyelids with shimmer and pigment.
Golden Statuary, an easy-to-use neutral bronze with taupe tendencies, is my favorite of the bunch. I have a feeling it'll get forth swimmingly with peel tones on both ends of the color temperature spectrum.
For the kind of smooth I tin can comfortably wear to daytime events, I just pat a miniscule amount direct on my lids (I think y'all tin get away with using less on darker skin) with a firm, flat eyeshadow castor like Laura's All Over Eye Colour Brush, and buff out the edges with a tapered blending brush similar Laura's Pony Tail.
Then, I curl my lashes, treat them to Chanel Le Volume Mascara, swipe a smidgen of Laura's stunning Lip Lacquer in Laque Rouge gloss on my lips, and "Why, yes, I am prepare for my closeup, Mr. Deville." 🙂
Alternately, for a bolder, loftier-shine metallic shimmer, I'll simply add together a second layer.
More to adore about Glided Bronze…
- When the medium-sized flecks of shimmer catch the light, they demand attention! This is definitely non a shadow for shimmer shy wallflowers.
- The buttery smoothen formula blends easily into other shadows.
- I don't observe any fallout at all.
- When I layer it on peak of my NARS primer, it resists fading and settling into those abrasive little lines on my lids…
One side effect of all that pigment and shine is how like shooting fish in a barrel it is to go unintentionally overboard with these, so unless I really want that "Vegas, baby!" party daughter, eyeshadow shine, I have to remember to be a fiddling careful about how much product I load on my brush.
I usually think of Laura's look every bit more than understated glamour than this, not that I'm lament at all. These are merely so intense and shimmery that I might have guessed they were from a brand like MAC or NARS.
Surprise! That's one of the things that keeps life interesting. 🙂
